in my perfect world... i would intern for deux moi.

i am STILL fangirling.

When I said this newsletter was going to be about things that only I cared about, this is what I meant.

I have been on the summer internship hunt since last fall, and I’ve yet to come up fruitful.

Some one-way video interviews (yep, the ones where you feel like a crazy person talking to a camera), some emails left unanswered, some rejection and some intense, hour long, scrolling on LinkedIn sessions.

So dreamy!

While I haven’t given up hope yet (much to my own dismay), I have been running on low when it comes to fuel left in my internship search tank.

BUT - I had the best experience over the weekend that I think gave me some more mileage. Allow me to explain.

I am completely obsessed with Deux Moi.

And if you don’t know what that is, I’ll tell you.

Deux Moi is self defined as the “curators of pop culture” and honestly, that kind of sums it up. But in reality, Deux Moi is “Instagram’s anonymous gossip queen”, an instagram page turned empire that runs on celebrity sightings and gossip, provided by various sources and her 1.4 million followers.

Deux posts weekly celeb sightings on her account (@deuxmoi), as well as blind items for followers to speculate about on @revealmoi. She drops merch, has a weekly podcast with a different guest host (Deux U), a book coming out in November, AND singlehandedly keeps Carbone in business (iykyk).

This weekend, I think Deux and I became best friends.

I’ve DM’d her a few times before, but never received a response. And honestly, I didn’t think I ever would. But do you think that stopped me from trying?

On Friday, I sent her some info about Olivia Jade and Jacob Elordi that I picked up from Olivia’s Instagram live (I’m aware that sentence probably made no sense to some of you), and called it a night.

On Saturday I got a response.

Deux and I conversed about Olivia and Jacob, who’s dating who, etc… and I even made her laugh!

Or I guess, however you can really make someone laugh over Instagram DM.

THEN - I got ballsy, and followed my boyfriend’s spur of the moment advice to jokingly ask about an internship.

Me: “also deux if you ever need an intern… im ur girl”

Deux: “TY bb”

“TY bb”! Are you serious?!

I’m well aware that means nothing, and I will probably never intern for Miss Deux Moi, but c’mon, if that’s what it took for me to carry on the internship search… I’ll take it.

So anyways, I’ll be here, aggressively filling out applications and keeping my dreams afloat.

In my perfect world… my gravestone will read “Here Lies Claire Burch, Deux Moi’s bb.”
