*warning* *extremely long, somewhat niche, extra detailed post ahead*
Ugh.
I think I would consider giving up my arm to go to that party. And by that party, I mean the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Last Sunday was the Oscars, and this Sunday at 8 PM (EST) are the Grammys… Award season is a lot to handle for a girl like me, and by that I mean a girl who meticulously watches who wore and won what at almost every show.
Anyways…
Back to the party of all parties.
Hollywood’s night out.
With the Vanity Fair Oscar Party come the photos. The “Photos From Inside the Vanity Fair Oscar Party” photos. The flash photography, perfectly candid, comparable to the Met Gala bathroom selfies photos.
Maybe one day I’ll get to be a fly on the wall, but for now these photos are my only way in, so I thought I’d share my commentary on some of my personal standouts.
1/199 - Troy Katsur won best actor for his role in CODA; he is the first deaf man to win an Oscar. If you ask my housemates, I might have teared up watching him receive it. This picture is perfection.
7/199 - This is EXACTLY how I imagine Zendaya looking at a party. Literally modeling in what is arguably the best tailored suit of all time while everything else spins around her. The world is not heliocentric, but Zendaya-centric.
8/199 - The fact that were literally in Breaking Dawn together is something that escapes my mind daily. Kristen’s look for the party was one of my favorites.
10/199 - I LOVE BILLIE! I also might love black hair Billie more than platinum blonde Billie.
14/199 - No comment. None at all.
15/199 - Zoë might be my new celebrity girl crush. This photo also made me wonder what everyone’s drink orders are… anybody know who was bartending that night?
36/199 - I don’t even watch Euphoria and I ship them. Side note - Dominic’s hair (or dyed lack thereof) is perfect.
41/199 - LUPITA LOOKED SO BEAUTIFUL! But when does she not?
44/199 - Steve Harrington?
48/199 - Texas forever.
51/199 - I think I stopped breathing. Pam and Tommy? Lily and Seb? I can’t tell the difference in this photo. I know I voiced my love for him and Daisy Edgar Jones, but I would be more than okay with this pairing, too.
54/199 - People Magazine called Kim “a vision in blue!” and I could not agree more.
56/199 - Me: “Is that Suki Waterhouse?”
*zooms in*
Me again: “…that IS Suki Waterhouse.”
I want to make a correction. Suki AND Zoë are my new celebrity girl crushes. (PS. do we think this photo is what Robert Pattinson’s brain looks like?)
65/199 - Zooey Deschanel is so adorable. Also, it looks like her property brother is holding part of her dress for her? I could cry. He’s no Nick Miller, but he’ll do.
70/199 - Hailee’s look was so stunning and classy IMO. 10/10.
75/199 - Henry Golding is like a golden retriever in my mind. I’ve loved him since Crazy Rich Asians and I will never stop. Kudos to him for going the fun tux route.
91/199 - THIS. THIS LOOK. THIS WINS.
92/199 - Trying to figure out what Gabrielle Union said to elicit that reaction has been plaguing my mind. Any guesses?
99/199 - Whoever took this knew what they were doing, and I’ll leave it at that.
103/199 - I would hate to be Camilla right now.
131/199 - Is that… a headband?
134/199 - Oscar Party or The Matrix?
199/199 - No better place to end it than with Queen Billie and her historic Oscar.
If you're reading this, that means you got to the end, and that you’re my new best friend because you care about this craziness just as much as I do.
In my perfect world… you won’t be sick of me when I do another one of these for the Grammys ;).
